The Bernhard Suite with Adam Donen and The Cure’s Roger O’Donnell

On Saturday the 26th of October, the world premiere of The Bernhard Suite was held in the packed redblue concert hall in Heilbronn.
Artpress’ Nausikaä was there and was impressed by the deep and moving piece.

The work is inspired by the works of Austrian author Thomas Bernhard, the Suite was full of melancholy and musings on death and oppression: beautiful and unsettling at the same time.

The two composers, South African “Wunderkind” Adam Donen and Roger O’Donnell (keyboard player of the band The Cure) had arrived for the premiere, hearing their compositions performed with a full orchestra for the first time.

It was a spectacular evening! I was obviously thrilled to hang out with rock stars, but I swear to you, that I only drank mineral water all evening.
